Home Theater Reflections – Early Reflections and Solutions

Most home theater owners have heard of early reflections or first reflections. For those who may have heard of first reflections but are not exactly sure of their meaning or role in home theater, clarification can help pave the way to the ultimate home theater experience.

Early reflections may be thought of as a 2-channel system as opposed to a surround system. To illustrate early reflection, it is easiest to imagine sitting between two speakers among an equilateral setup. While listening, the sound leaves the speakers and travels in a straight line through the room to the listeners’ ears. A split second later those first reflections are actually heard in succession: from the sound leaving the speaker to being reflected off the side walls and finally heard by the listener. Because the sound has to travel, it is time delayed by a few milliseconds and it changes the frequency response of what is heard.

The same, or very similar, sounds are heard coming from two different directions: first it is heard coming from the speakers and then it is heard coming from the reflection on the side wall.

Guide to Care and Manintenance Home Theater

Home theater maintenance usually includes regular cleaning. The regular cleaning is a form of maintenance and care that is needed to make the home theater works fine. Clean the dust off from the surface of the unit. You may also have to clean the inside system by blowing of the dust from the system. You do not have to touch the component. You just need to blow air onto it to remove the dust.

Remember that you should not remove the part where you can see that there is a seal on it. The seal usually has something written on it such as a warranty that covers the unit. You have to do routine maintenance so the costly home theater system will not break easily. Regular cleaning and check up can help to make the it work in optimal performance.

You will need duster and cloth to clean the whole system. Use lint-free clothe to clean the TV monitor and projector lens.

Dust the surface using duster at least once in 2 weeks. Dust that accumulates everyday might insulate your home theater system and it can cause the system to overheat.
